What are the Career Learning Communities being offered by ACPS, and what do they mean for our families?
Interpreting Virginia Growth Assessment Data
We give our students assessments, but it should come as no surprise that the data can be confusing to interpret and use. Let’s cut through some of this confusion.
High School Choice, Part 1
Our first installation in a series discussing the many high school choices offered in ACPS.
When We Fight Against Each Other, all of us Lose
Avoiding topics that produce moral anguish may seem like a good way to protect students, but in practice, it only protects the current system.
Safe Spaces Save Lives
We must simply create classrooms and schools in which ALL kids can be comfortable, safe, and ready to learn.
Prevent Book Banning and Censorship in ACPS
SB 656 carries the risk of allowing individual community members to deem learning resources as “sexually explicit” for the mere inclusion of LGBTQ characters or historical events and movements in the LGBTQ community. We are opposed to book banning and censorship in general and especially when it is done on the basis of discrimination.
